Shrink Film Catalog
If you are wrapping gift baskets, you will want to use PVC film. The 18" PackageMaster system comes with 500' of 75 gauge PVC film. PVC will inhibit or eliminate the ability of scents and fragrances to permeate the film. For candles, PVC works best. To allow the scent through, order 18" Perforated PVC. If you are wrapping small baskets or trays, 75 gauge PVC film will work well for you. If you are wrapping large baskets, you will want to order the 24" BasketMaster Plus or the 30" FrameMaster system and they come with 375' of 100 gauge PVC film. If you do order the larger systems it is always wise to get an extra roll of 18" 75 gauge PVC film. This way if you have to wrap smaller items, you do not have to use the heavier, wider film to do this. The 18" roll of film fits on the 24" and 30" systems. It takes seconds to exchange rolls.
If you are wrapping boxes, toys, frames, stationary, books, food items, toys, anything with sharp edges or odd shapes, you will want to use Polyolefin. Polyolefin is the most popular film among soapmakers, as it allows the scent to pass through the film. For dairy based bars, like Goats Milk, you will want to use the perforated rolls. Perforations also allow trapped air to escape sealed packages, making the shrinking process easier as it eliminates squeezing the sir out of your perfectly sealed packages. SSP-Plus Polyolefin is a limited shrink polyolefin suitable for non-rigid items. If you need to use polyolefin film, the standard is a 500' roll of 75 gauge film, regardless of the size of the system. Use 60 gauge or 100 gauge polyolefin as required.
